Toy Run 2011 Pictures

The Toy Run, a mass gathering of bikers to raise toys for children over the festive season. Today I enjoyed my 5th ride in Cape Town, starting from Ottery, thousands of bikers rode to the festivities in Maynardville, high-five'ing bystanders alongside the road. At the end of the ride, toys are given in, beers are consumed, bikes are perved over, merchandise is bought, live music is heard and people of all kinds are generally having a good time. Dirt build up in nostrils is to be expected  :)
Check out some pictures below!

Motorbike Drifting and Stunt Riding

French stunt rider, Jorian Ponomareff just put the biggest smile on my face during this video. We have all seen guys dancing around their bikes whilst up on the back wheel spinning in circles and they are impressive stunts, but drifting around cones is in a league of its own. Cool camera work, banging beat and an all round awesome video with over 1.5 million views in the first week.

Safe House - Movie - Cape Town

An action packed movie, shot in the mother city, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, sounds good! I remember the ciaos when they shot in the Cape Town Stadium till 3, 4am, the surrounding residents were not pleased, but I'm keen to see if that part is in this movie. Coming in 2012!
Shout out to MichClarke.

Ducati 1199 Panigale Superbike

The new Ducati 1199 Panigale is a whole lot of bike and the first Ducati superbike with a name; normally just numbers, such as 998, 1098, 1099. The name is pronounced "Pan-ee-gah-lee" and if you ever come up against one at a traffic light, unless you're packing, best you knock over your king and accept "Checkmate".

Beast!

A short quote from the site, "In calculating the optimum configuration to achieve the next big step forward in power output for the L-twin engine, Ducati and Ducati Corse engineers increased engine speed and enhanced breathability with the incredible bore and stroke of 112mm x 60.8mm. The intense study of power and ridability resulted in an output of 195hp @ 10,750 rpm." The new Superquadro engine is lighter and produces more power, which sounds about right for Ducati's innovative technology and Italian brains. The site is packed with content, check it out!

Tata and Tutu Talk The Bookmarks

As we enter the week of the The Bookmarks 2011, I thought it is a good idea to resurface last years funny discussion between Desmond Tutu and Tata Madiba about the "Oscars". Good luck to all the finalists and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday night for the awards evening.

Lego CSI Episode in Legoland

Classic! Episode from what must be CSI Miami, where the sun always shines. Well worth a watch and although I laughed during this video, I still think the best Lego enactment is the Death Star Canteen...
