Fabio Wibmer's Video Game Film Grand Theft Bike

RedBull's Austrian trials bike rider Fabio Wibmer has just released his latest video, combining amazing bicycle skills and tricks with Grand Theft Auto style gamification. The film took 50 days to shoot and apparently the bunny hop from bench to bench with a tailwhip exit was the hardest trick that took the most attempts. It's thoroughly entertaining and an extremely brilliantly done video.

Meerendal MTB Trails

This is my forth mountain biking video made in the Tygerberg area and includes drone footage from my friend Stefan, who got some really cool aerial footage. The trails and flora are particularly awesome this time of year, I'm glad I waited to make the video until now. Whether you like relaxed single trail or fast downhill riding, Meerendal has it all, including a pump-track.

Bloemendal Mountain Bike Trail

Bloemendal Mountain Bike (MTB) Trails are a definite favorite within the Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club's network. Bloemendal offers brilliant single trail for all levels of riding and it's central for linking up with Hillcrest, Contermanskloof and Majik Forest. Bloemendal is also home to the club's weekly Thursday night ride. In this video I cover both upper and lower trails of Bloemendal cycling along: Rooikat, Bloemendaaler (Bloemslang), B-Spot and the newly upgraded Lombard's Terra. My ride includes the new Bluegum trail on Upper Bloemendal and the gap jump on Lombard's Terra.

Contermanskloof Mountain Bike Trail Session

Contermansklook mountain bike trail has some of the most advanced single trail in the Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club's network. I finally got more GoPro accessories so the camera angles are more varied, plus I have learnt some more editing tricks specifically with keyframes and splitting video segments. I tested out the handlebar or seatpost mount, as well as the chesty and I'm pleased with them both. It was the perfect time to record a video at Contermanskloof as they have recently done some trail maintenance and the greenery at this time of year made for some magnificent scenery.

Buzzbike: Bicycles as Rolling Adverts

Buzzbike gives Londoners a free bicycle if they are prepared to be a rolling advert and ride it 12 times a month and park it securely outside. The bike is built by Cooper (Mini), uses Bluetooth and apps to measure activity, and enable community communication, plus advertisers can specify geographic preferences for promotions. Good for the environment, good for the people riding them = brilliant!

Hoogekraal Mountain Bike Trail Video - Tygerberg

Being into action sports since I can remember: rollerblades, BMX, skateboarding, bodyboarding, all excited me. Since I got back into mountain biking and motorbikes, I decided it's time to invest in a GoPro to capture it all. I bought my GoPro Hero 4 Silver camera a week ago, have been watching tutorials online and this is my very first video edit (with one mount) from today's ride. Thoughts?

My Mountain Bike Story [UPDATED]

Since my early school days, I went through skateboarding, rollerblading, bodyboarding and BMX'ing stages, with wakeboarding and skiing, have been down the Orange River four times, completed the Argus three times and was brought up with camping and the outdoors since age 4 (learnt to ride a bicycle on a camping trip). From age 16, I was driving a scooter and age 17 a motorbike. All the extreme stuff excited me. Grade 7, BMX days, we went as far as leaving a pick and shovel on Signal Hill and went everyday after school to build dirt jumps, ended being an epic little figure-of-8 track.

One of my goals for this year was to be more active, i.e. get back into doing an adrenaline seeking sport. June last year, I got back into bodyboarding and am loving it, but the drive to go surf started weakening with winter. At the beginning of the year, while sitting around a fire with some mates, we decided, mountain biking would be it! I got looking for a bike as soon as we were back in town.
